Raw Material: 2205 duplex stainless steel, which combines the advantages of austenite and ferrite. It features high strength, excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion and pitting corrosion.
Production Process: Made from 2205 stainless steel plates or tube blanks through precise blanking, hot pressing or cold drawing forming (hot pressing is adopted for large-diameter or thick-wall products). It undergoes solution heat treatment (water quenching at approximately 1050°C) to restore corrosion resistance and toughness, precision machining on the joints of branch pipes, main pipes and bevels, pickling and passivation treatment to remove oxide scales and form a passivation film, followed by dimensional inspection, penetrant testing (PT) or radiographic testing (RT), and pressure testing.
Application Fields: Especially suitable for harsh environments, including offshore oil platforms, chemical and petrochemical equipment, paper-making industry, flue gas desulfurization systems, seawater treatment, and pipeline systems under high chloride ion conditions.
Temperature and Pressure Resistance: The continuous service temperature range of 2205 duplex steel is approximately from -50°C to 300°C, and it can withstand higher temperatures for short-term use. Its strength is about twice that of 304 stainless steel, so it can bear higher pressure with the same wall thickness. Specific pressure levels shall be calculated according to wall thickness standards (such as Sch10s, Sch40s).
